In 1952, during a Christmas season, Therese Belivet, a shopgirl is working in a department store in Manhattan. One day Therese meets a woman named Carol Aird, purchases a gift for her seven year old daughter. Therese helped Carol to select the best gift for her daughter. When Carol departs, she accidently leaves her gloves in the store. Therese sends the gift along with the gloves to Carol. Later Therese visit Carol’s home and they develops an intimate relationship. Carol is a semi divorced wife and she was not at all happy with her husband Harge Aird. Carol’s loveless relationship with Harge leads her to build a romantic affair with Therese.
