The bar association asks James Donovan to defend Abel. Donovan hasn't practiced the criminal law since the time he was a prosecutor at the Nuremburg trials. The strong anti-Communist present time create him a target from who think Abel should just be executed. When Abel is found guilty but Donovan convinces the judge to sentence him to prison. Just such a scenario comes into play when in 1960 Francis Gary Powers U-2 spy pilot are shot down over Soviet territory and become a prisoner. Donovan is again recruited to help Abel and further swapping process across the newly built Berlin Wall.

Maud see a women Alice Haughton, the wife of an MP encourages women for their rights and equality. Violet got a chance to give testimony in order to get the right for vote. But she is beaten and unable to present subsequently Maud is the one who testifies. Maud speaks to the authority and later she goes with Violet and other women to watch if women have been given the right to vote. But police started beating the women. Maud is caught and arrested for a week. These incidents changed Maud’s life and she started fighting.

Mandela then pays the price when he and his fellow members are punished to life imprisonment for betraying his country. Meanwhile his wife, Winnie, is abused by the authorities. Even after being imprisoned for several years, Mandela continues his struggle for freedom and beyond his captivity he becomes an international political leader for freedom struggle. Winnie’s persistence increases over the years into hard determination, which helps Nelson raise his own image and become the leader of the movement. As his release from prison near approaches his ability will be examined and he must find a way to get a peaceful victory that will provide freedom for his nation. He must also see that reputation of his people is not damaged.
