Bridge of Spies (2015)

In 1957, American attorney and U.S. Navy Reserve Commander James B. Donovanis recruited from his prestigious law firm to defend Rudolf Abel, an accused Soviet spy. The bar association asks James Donovan to defend Abel. Donovan hasn't practiced the criminal law since the time he was a prosecutor at the Nuremburg trials. The strong anti-Communist present time create him a target from who think Abel should just be executed. When Abel is found guilty but Donovan convinces the judge to sentence him to prison. Just such a scenario comes into play when in 1960 Francis Gary Powers U-2 spy pilot are shot down over Soviet territory and become a prisoner. Donovan is again recruited to help Abel and further swapping process across the newly built Berlin Wall.
