In 1970’s, James “Whitey” Bulgerthe leader of the Irish American Winter Hill Gang controls most of the crimes within South Boston. Also he has a team with his right hand man Stephan Flemmi, Kevin Weeks and Johnny Martorano. Lots of people in Boston loved Whitey, but he was an unpredictable man. FBI agent John Connolly, a friend of Whitey and his brother William “Billy” Bulger, state senate president returns to the area he grown up in South Boston. Connolly convinces Whitey to help FBI and work with him. Although Whitey hates the idea of being a rat, he realized the safety he would have for his gang and his family. But the unlikely partnership takes a nasty turn.
